I've tried to medicate myself with every pill and suspicious fluid I could find, but I guess I just have to give it some time. I've been listening to First Aid Kit all day long, walking around in the beautiful weather watching cute couples kissing in the sunshine. Spring is knocking on the door and I couldn't be more happy! I've had a really good Friday! It started off with coffee and friends, then Bea and I went into the city to see my buds, who had a gig in town. We kind of missed out on the whole gig though, so I can't really give you any comments on the show. But the crowd seemed happy so I guess it was good! The night ended with some sober partying at Sticky Fingers and now I'm back home, just about to go to sleep.

My friends in Enjoy the View just released a new song called "Reflections", and I can't seem to stop listening to it. So obviously, it's really good. I've seen these guys live twice, and I must say that for a band that has just begun to make their own path in the music business, I'm impressed that they've come so far. They are so professional and synced with each other on stage, and they are performing their music with such emotion, it makes their shows sensational. If you ever get the chance to see them, do it!

Forever unstoppable

It's been a busy day! It started off with a job interview at Liseberg, which went really well. Everyone was so nice and I was filled with so much positive energy when I left! I also found the cutest car ever at their office. I promise that I'll take my drivers license if I get that car!

After the interview I went to my tattoo artist Mikke, at UVX in Nordstan. I was supposed to finish some details on my thigh tattoo, but shit happens and when I left I had two new tattoos! One in my face and one on my finger. Pictures will come.. Mikke is the best by the way, he played Rammstein all day just for me!

After hours of pain I met up with my friend Felicia for some vegan sushi and philosophical conversations about life. Great times!

It really breaks my heart when people don't believe in themselves and are too afraid to follow their dreams. Or even worse, when people genuinely dislike themselves. You only live once, so why waste your life on being miserable? Make the best out of the life that you've got. If there is something you don't like, change it! And if you want something, go get it! Enjoy every minute of your existence, you have nothing to lose!
Remember, the one who says that he can't and the one who says that he can are both usually right.

Over the years I've changed a lot as a person. And I'm proud to say that I really like who I've become. Inner peace and happiness are two things that I cherish a lot, and I'm glad that I've found that. If more people could feel the way that I do, the world would be a better place.

And guys, promise me one thing. Don't try to bring other people down for your own win, because what goes around comes around, so let go of the hate. Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

Screwed up for my own good

My heart beats approximately 100 000 times every day. And in every heartbeat countless amounts of love flows through my veins. But the world is cold and cruel, so my mind is building up a barrier. A barrier that gets thicker and thicker every time something bad happens. This means that the love inside of me can not break through the shell of massive concrete that I've unconsciously created around myself. Every inch of my body wants to share my affection with the world, but it takes time to pierce all of the layers that are protecting me from the darkness on the outside. This leaves me alone in a bubble. Incapable of loving another person, not only numb to emotional pain, but also the warm feeling of love from others. Screwed up for my own good, I'm looking at the world through jaded eyes. Leniency has become one of my closest friends.

Good bye party & Get Infected Tour

Yesterday me and my friends had a little good bye party for our friend Mia, because she is moving to Australia tomorrow. I can't believe that I won't be able to see her for a whole year, I'm gonna miss her so much! Hopefully I can go visit her in the land down under later this year.

Today I went to see the Get Infected Tour at Brew House. I didn't stay for all the bands though, since I only wanted to see We Butter the Bread With Butter.

I've been wanting to see WBTBWB for quite some time now, so it was really great to finally get the chance. They were awesome and I really liked the show, but I know they can do certain things better. So next time I see them I hope they've learned some lessons!

Crazy times

So, Tuesday night I went to see Asking Alexandria, Chelsea Grin and Bless the Fall in Gothenburg. It was a nice show and I met a lot of friends that I haven't seen in a while!

Since I was going to the show in Stockholm the day after, the guys in Asking let me ride with them. They are such amazing lads, and I had a really great time hanging out with them. It's a bit sad that they have left now, but hopefully they will be back soon!

I have to say that the show in Stockholm was way better than the one in Gothenburg. The crowd was insane! You should have seen the looks on their faces, it was pure happiness! Like I've said before, being on a stage with a crowd singing along to your songs must be one of the greatest feelings ever!

I've had an awesome night! I got to the venue a bit late so I missed out on Glamour of the Kill, but the other bands were great! It looks like so much fun to be on stage, I can't wait 'til I'm up there myself.

After the show my friend Mia and I went in to the city with some of the guys. The plan was to find a bar, but since it was friday night it was crowded everywhere, so we walked back to the venue and chilled on the bus instead.

The only thing that could have been better tonight was the temperature, why does it have to be so god damn cold in Sweden? It's not even funny. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I live in the wrong country..

When it comes to vegan ice cream the flavours caramel and strawberry from Oatly are my new favourites. They taste just like real ice cream and don't have that weird after taste like certain flavours from Tofuline..

For the best taste experience you should put both flavours in a bowl and then add some sliced banana!

And to all the ice cream makers out there, I'm still waiting for the vegan version of Half Baked by Ben & Jerry's!

Gym Class Heroes had a gig in town the other day, so me and a couple of friends went to see them. I don't usually listen to that kind of music, but they really put on a great show! Too bad it wasn't sold out.

After the show we went to Yaki-Da to meet up with the GCH guys, but it was kind of lame so we took a cab back to the venue and partied on the bus instead. I had an awesome time, but I definitely had one too many drinks. Which didn't have a good impact on my health, 'cause now I'm really ill and too weak to leave the house. I'll get back to you when I feel better again!

'Cause everybody's gotta die sometime

Have you ever thought about the way you are going to die? Like how it will happen? Not that I walk around and think about that very often, but sometimes you end up in these situations where you could have died. Or maybe you have a dream about it?

I have three different death scenarios that I can see myself end up in. The first one is a bit extreme. I'm on a gas station, something ignites and the whole shit explodes! Unfortunately I'm standing in the middle of it and end up in flames.

The second scenario is me crossing the street and smash, I get hit by a freakin' bus!
There's been several times where I've almost gotten hit by a bus, but luckily I managed to move away just in time.

The third scenario is probably the worst. I'm alone and about to swallow some vitamins, and suddenly the fucking pill gets stuck in my throat! I can't breathe nor scream for help, so I suffocate to death and drop down on the floor!
This almost happened to me once, I panicked and started to hit myself in the chest, obviously I survived, but I was terrified for hours!

Well, enough talk about death, now I'm gonna live!

Today I got some more ink done, and bloody hell it hurt like fuck!! My skin is very sensitive and I've always been really weak when it comes to pain, so it's a miracle that I managed to live through the hole thing! If I would ever be tortured for information, I'd most likely give up immediately.

I did the tattoo at a new place here in Gothenburg and my tattoo artist was so nice! So if you're ever in Gothenburg, I strongly recommend you to try out the UVX studio in Nordstan.

The tattoo looks great, but I'll head back in a couple of weeks to fix some more details, because my skin couldn't take more today. I'll post a pic when it's healed!

Maybe rats aren't so bad after all

I just stumbled over something really impressive, and they are called HeroRATs! A HeroRAT is an African giant pouched rat who is trained to sniff out unexploded landmines and tuberculosis. A full trained HeroRAT can pinpoint the location of landmines quickly and effectively, or sniff tuberculosis faster than a traditional laboratory microscopy. The rats are trained by click sounds and rewards, such as peanuts and bananas!

Here is some information about why they are using rats for this kind of job.

Rats have an exceptional sense of smell, and can be trained to detect explosives. Unlike metal detectors, they can detect both metal and plastic-cased landmines.
Rats provide a low-tech solution to the landmine problem, especially in low-resource environments.
Rats are light-weight (approximately 1.5 kg or less) and they will not set off mines when they stand on them (it typically takes 5 kg to set off a pressure-activated landmine).
Rats are very sociable and easy to train, and they don't mind performing repetitive tasks (in exchange for a sweet reward!)
Rats are small and very cheap to feed, maintain, and transport.
Rats are motivated by food, and are less emotionally tied to their handlers than dogs - it is therefore easier to transfer them between handlers.
Rats require little veterinary care, are resilient to many tropical diseases and are highly adaptable creatures.
African giant pouched rats have a long life span (6-8 years) which means a solid return on the initial training investment.

In the following videos you can see the rats in action! I'm really impressed by these little creatures and I think it's great that they are using one of the most hated animals on earth for such a heroic job!

I just went over to the neighbours to meet the most adorable little creatures! How can one not love puppies? They were so cozy and playful and I really wanted to take them home with me!

I had all kinds of different animals when I grew up, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, a dog, a cat, fishes, newts & frogs. I even had some unwanted lice once. Oh, and don't forget about the inevitable dust bunnies!

Since I'm used to being surrounded by animals it really gets empty when they're gone, like something is missing. But I have promised myself that when I settle down and have the time I will get a dog!

Highlights of my year

2011 has almost come to an end, and that makes me think about the past year. What have I really been up to? Let's take it from the beginning..

I'm really bad with dates, so I'm not sure when everything happened. But in the beginning of 2011 I went to London where I got to know the guys in Pierce the Veil and had a great time seeing what the city had to offer! Like a week later, I flew to Berlin to hang some more with PTV before they had to go back to the States. In Berlin I also got to know the guys in Adept, 'cause they had joined the PTV tour somewhere on the road. I had such a great time and I hope to meet all the guys again soon!

Around March-April I became vegan, and in May I moved to my own apartment.

The first week in June, I went to work at the Siesta festival. The weather was perfect, I got to see Asking Alexandria (which is one of my favourite bands), and I found a new love, named Daniel Adams Ray.

Like a week and a half after Siesta, it was time to work at West Coast Riot and Metaltown! I was really, really ill during this time, and the bad weather didn't make it better. But I did the best of the situation and had a lot of fun anyway!

The week after WCR and Metaltown, I got on a bus and ended up at Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium! The weather could've been better, but at least the last day of the festival was warm and sunny!
This was the second time at Graspop for me, and as long as the 2012 - line up looks the way it does right now, it probably won't be a third time.

In July I worked for Sweden Rock Shop and then I became a part of Nocturnal Agency. I also went to work at the festival Putte i Parken, where I got to see the amazing Ke$ha perform. She proved to me that there's no such thing as too much glitter! Paramore and my new found little angel Daniel Adams Ray also played at this festival, and I still get goosebumps when I think back at their gigs.

In August I had a small role in the movie "Musiken tog oskulden". We had so much fun at the set and I can't wait to see the result!

Somewhere during the fall I started working for Greenworks Television and Gothia Towers. I also took a course in organizing events, got a new tattoo and dropped out of school.

Around Halloween I went on a cruise to Riga with my agency, we had so much fun and I'm glad that I got to meet more people from the agency!

Now in December, I've been working at Julgalan in Stockholm, which was awesome.

To summarize the year of 2011, I must say that it's been one of the best years of my life. I've got so many new and wonderful friends, I've seen so many places and I've had so much fun! Isn't it great that life get's better every year? I love living.

It's funny how much of an impact a song can have on you and how it can affect your feelings on so many levels. Like when I listen to a song I haven't heard in a while, I get this instant reminder of the time in my life when I used to have that song on repeat. All the memories come back and I get this thrill. I love it when that happens, especially when really good memories come back.
It's interesting how my subconscious mind can store things like that, life is full of wonders.

I got home from Stockholm today and I have mixed feelings about that. Home is where the heart is, and right now my heart is somewhere else. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm done with this place. It's not that I don't like it, but it's just not the place for me.

I've been away for about nineteen days, I've felt like a rockstar on tour and I've met so many wonderful people! How am I suppose to go back to normal again? Whatever that is..

But since I dropped out of school and don't have a full time job I have all the time in the world to spend on myself and my dreams, so that's what I'll do. Starting right now! No excuses, I'm going all in. Success is right around the corner. As long as I believe in myself I will accomplish anything.

Eat pussy, not cow

Several times this week I've been asked why I've chosen a vegan lifestyle. First of all, I really don't approve of the way the meat industry looks today, I just can't understand why animals have to suffer for the purpose that we want something to eat. There are so many other great substitutes for meat these days, so torturing cows for a hamburger does not exist in my world. And I would also never have the guts to kill an animal myself, so why in the world would I let someone else do the dirty work for me? Why should I take another creature's life when I can feed on something that won't harm anyone else? Like Paul McCartney once said, "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian." We don't have to kill animals for our own survival, so why the fuck are we doing it? I wouldn't want anyone to eat me and my friends, so therefore I'm not gonna eat someone else either.

The problem with people is that they're too ignorant, they know about the problem, but they choose to ignore it. Maybe it's because of laziness. Or perhaps they're just heartless.

Most people ask me what the fuck I eat as a vegan, and I can promise you, there's a whole amazing vegan world out there for you to explore. Vegans don't only eat salad and beans. You can make most dishes vegan, you just have to replace the animal products with vegan alternatives, it's not harder than that.

Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison & Leonardo DaVinci were pretty clever guys, and they all chose not to eat animals. You see the connection?

I understand that the whole world won't become vegan, but the meat industry has to change, and that's now! And that goes for animal testing and the fur industry too.

I hope I made my point and that you understand and respect my point of view.

It keeps getting better

At the moment, I'm at my friends apartment in Stockholm. The reason why I'm in Stockholm is because I work here this month, otherwise you find me in Gothenburg. I really, really love Stockholm. The people I've met here so far are great and I like the fact that this city is a litte bit bigger than Gothenburg.

In the future, I hope to live in another country, maybe I'll settle down in Melbourne, London or why not San Diego? Only the future will tell. But if I'm gonna live in Sweden I want to live in Stockholm, because that's the biggest city this country have to offer.

So what have I been up to lately? Well, I've been working at this event called "the Christmas gala", where I've been dressed as Jessica Rabbit and worked as a waitress. I've seriously had so much fun and the people I've been working with are great!

I'm going back to Gothenburg next Sunday, but I'll be back here in Stockholm about a week later to celebrate new year's eve.

The wonderful world of steampunk

I have this huge obsession with steampunk. I just love the Victorian influenses and how the whole world of steampunk represents an alternative future that never happened.

If I could I'd fly around in an airship with my top hat and goggles for the rest of my life. I will definitely make a steampunk-themed photoshoot in the near future.

The guys in Panic! At The Disco clearly have a thing for steampunk aswell, as you can see in the video below.

There is more than one way to go

A while ago I decided to drop out of school. I got a lot of different reactions from the people around me, and a lot of them said that I was stupid. But how does that make me stupid? I gave school more than one chance, and eventually I realized that school isn't anything for me.

I mean isn't it better if I drop out now and start living my life, rather than stay in school, be miserable and get shitty grades? I don't plan on studying after high school, so why would I waste my time? In my opinion it's much better that I do something that I really want and something that I enjoy. Just because I don't graduate doesn't mean that I won't succeed in life.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can say "I told you I would make it!" and laugh in all the narrow minded people's faces. People need to think outside the box, because there's more than one way to go. Everybody is different, and this is the way that I've chosen, respect that and don't judge.

Life is too short to be anything but happy

I have once again been awake all night and spent the last couple of hours thinking about my life, my goals and my dreams. Some people function very well when the sun is up, but I'm one of those nocturnal creatures who makes wonders during the night. I always come up with the best ideas when I sit by myself, surrounded by darkness, with good music in my headphones. This particular night I decided to get a new blog. I just felt that it was the right thing to do, we all need a new start sometimes right?

So who am I? That's something I ask myself from time to time. I would describe myself as a positive thinker who is very determined to reach my goals. I'm a kind-hearted person and I have a passion for music and personal style. I love traveling, meeting new people, and being in front of the camera.

Well, I could probably go on about who I am for an eternity, but I'll leave you with these words for now.

I hope you want to join me on my journey through life, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do!
